Well, we made the trip to Colorado on Wednesday - July 11th. We left at 4am Texas time - mom's grand idea so that everyone would be too tired to stay awake and would sleep at least the first several hours......NOT! No-one fell asleep until later in the day. Good grief - adrenalin is not always a blessing! :)
So, we only made about 5 stops during the day - the kids did great - and we were able to make it the whole distance in one day. One of our stops was in Colorado Springs and we took a vote on whether or not to keep going. It was unanimous that we keep on - well Anna didn't really get a vote but she did want to go see Grandpa and Grandma so we took that as a yes! :)
Everyone did great.
Some trip notes:
Davie - 3 times before 9:30am - "Are we there yet?" After the third time Mom says - NO! And don't ask that again, please. So then in the afternoon - "Are we getting pretty close now?" :)
Anna - the kids were looking at the sliver of a moon in the morning - "I lost it!" then after searching frantically out the window - "I found it! There it is!"
We played the license plate game - Joshua trying to get the most fastest - "I'm pretty sure that was Maine!" NOT! "Montana then!" Nope. "Missouri?" You have to see it to count it son. "AWWWW"
I don't have the pictures on yet as I have not found out how to get them on from my folks computer - which is not the same as mine! So...pictures so come later.
It rained the day we came to Colorado so everyone has been thanking us for bringing the clouds with us! They have been hot and dry here for a long time so the clouds and rain have been much enjoyed. It is nice to wake up to crisp cool mornings again. I do miss those.
The kids have already been down to Grandpa's shop most days to help package meat or clean the shop. They enjoy going to work - now while they don't have to and it is fun! :)
Joshua is enjoying the chickens and collecting eggs again - he has missed that as much as I have. The chickens all like him still and let him carry them around and everything!
Well, all for now.
John 3:16-18
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." John 3:16-18

Psalm 127:3-5
"Behold, children are a gift of the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They shall not be ashamed, When they speak with their enemies in the gate."
