Blustery Day

Yep - it is definately 'blustery' out! The winds has been ripping along for three days now. Maybe it is trying to blow winter out! :) The first day we had severe weather alerts and winds at 35mph or better. That afternoon the kids and I looked out to see that three sections of our fence had blown down - it is laying flat on the ground in our yard. Thankfully, our neighbor does not have a dog or it would have run off! Jeff just repaired the front part of our fence that had blown and snapped a post last year so he is just thrilled to have three more sections to do.
Abby got a bird this year. She has been wanting one and saving her money for quite awhile now so we decided it was time for her to have a turn at a pet. She named it Lemon Drop and is trying to tame it down enough to sit on her finger.
We started back to our school work this week - everyone thought they were going to die. Thankfully, I can report that everyone is alive and well. :)
David is having some trouble with his alergies this week - no thanks to the wind on that one! - but he is doing okay and I am very thankful that we have been about a year and a half with no problems.
Today we start back to our geography class with a couple of our neighbors. The kids are looking forward to that. It was fun last semester and they learned quite a bit. For instance they all - even David - know the names of the continents and oceans - which I did not remember! Our neighbor lady had a song and so of course that makes it easier to memorize!
We started a timeline this week for our history class. Josh, Michael and Abby all got to make the first few cards for the timeline and decorate them. I think they really enjoyed it.
Well, I guess that is it for today - don't want to ramble on aimlessly for too long!
Have a nice weekend.

Psalm 127:3-5

"Behold, children are a gift of the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They shall not be ashamed, When they speak with their enemies in the gate."
