Day at the Park

The kids and I took Jeff to "our" favorite park today. It is a very nice park - lots of trees, playground, a pond with ducks and geese, turtles in the creek, a baseball field, soccer fields and more. Anyway, we usually enjoy it very much and end up staying a couple of hours at least.
This time, however, I forgot to figure in the rain last night, therefore mosquitos everywhere! Also, big soggy spots in the park and a day camp group that was there - everywhere! It also is getting hotter here - not bad for June, but hotter just the same. Anna just got redder and redder - in spite of the water she was guzzling. So, we ended up only staying about an hour. We did have fun in spite of it all and Jeff says he likes our park and can see how it would be very nice when it is cooler out! :)
The kids had fun feeding the ducks and geese. The boys tried to pet the goose. Anna walked right up to it and could have given it a hug - and I am sure would have tried if she had thought of it! She is so not afraid of any animal. We saw some bigger turtles who were also interested in the bread scraps the kids threw into the pond and a beautiful Egret.
So, our day in the park was overall nice in spite of mosquitos and heat.

Psalm 127:3-5

"Behold, children are a gift of the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They shall not be ashamed, When they speak with their enemies in the gate."
